The engagement

Ship-ready engineering on a conference timeline.

Wolves Summit is Europe's flagship startup-matchmaking conference, connecting founders, investors, and corporates across Central and Eastern Europe. The 2025 edition needed a rebuilt website ahead of the event cycle, with a clear mandate: a site the in-house team could operate without raising a ticket for every content update.

We led engineering with a focus on three things: ship-ability (a hard conference deadline with no flexibility), editorial autonomy (the content team needed to manage speakers, sponsors, agenda, and news without developer dependency), and a clean codebase that would carry across future editions without accumulated technical debt.

The result was a custom WordPress theme with a structured content architecture: speaker profiles, sponsor tiers, session listings, all manageable from the CMS without custom code per update.

01

Ship-ready engineering on a hard conference deadline

Conference websites have a fixed external deadline: the event. Every trade-off in the engagement was evaluated against the go-live date. Scope was controlled tightly, decisions were fast, and the staging-to-production pipeline was built for safe deployment without late-stage surprises.

02

Editorial autonomy for the in-house team

Speaker profiles, sponsor tiers, session listings, and news articles all needed to be manageable by a non-technical content team without raising a development ticket. The CMS architecture was designed specifically around the types of content the in-house team needed to publish across the conference cycle.

03

A codebase that carries across future editions

A conference website runs in cycles. The 2025 codebase was built to carry cleanly into 2026 and beyond: structured content types, no page-builder debt, and documentation sufficient for a different developer to pick up the next edition without a full audit of the previous year's work.
