Chatbots

When a chatbot earns its keep, how to keep it GDPR-safe, and how to hand off to a human before it costs you a lead.

Practical guide

Chatbots: what to settle before implementation.

A useful website chatbot handles a narrow job with a clear stopping point. It answers from approved material, collects the details a human needs, and hands the conversation over when confidence drops.

Start with the questions your team answers repeatedly. Measure resolved questions, qualified handovers, failed answers, and the time a person spends correcting the bot. If those numbers are missing, the chatbot is still a demo.

Before you start

Three decisions that prevent avoidable rework.

Define the approved sources and who updates them.
Set a confidence threshold and a visible human handover.
Record consent, retention, failed answers, and cost per resolved conversation.
Common questions

Direct answers about Chatbots.

When is a chatbot worth building?

Build one when question volume is repeated, the source material is controlled, and one person can own exceptions. Low volume or constantly changing answers usually do not justify the operating cost.

How do you keep an AI chatbot GDPR-safe?

Collect only what the handover needs, state the purpose, set retention limits, and keep sensitive data out of model prompts unless the legal basis and processor setup are explicit.
