AEO & GEO

Getting named in AI answers: how answer systems discover supporting pages, and how clear sourcing and structure make your content easier to understand.

AEO & GEO: what to settle before implementation.

Answer engines cite pages they can parse, trust, and connect to a specific question. That requires a direct answer, clear entity names, supporting evidence, useful internal links, and a page that remains accessible to the crawlers serving the answer system.

Do not create a separate layer of AI copy. Improve the same source pages people and search engines already use. Track citations by question set, inspect which passages are selected, and strengthen unsupported claims with first-party facts or cited sources.

Before you start

Three decisions that prevent avoidable rework.

Map each priority question to one canonical page and a direct answer.
Name entities consistently and support factual claims with visible sources.
Track citation presence, cited passage, landing page, and resulting visits.
Common questions

Direct answers about AEO & GEO.

Is GEO different from SEO?

The distribution surface differs, but the foundation overlaps. Crawlable pages, clear answers, entity consistency, evidence, and internal links support both search rankings and AI citations.

How do you measure AEO and GEO?

Use a fixed set of buyer questions. Record whether the brand appears, which page is cited, which passage is used, the answer position, referral visits, and assisted conversions.
